Completed Project

National Science + Media Museum

Michael Grubb Studio provided a unique and playful lighting installation for the official opening of Wonderlab, at the National Science + Media Museum.

The temporary installation incorporated large-scale helium balloons with temporary lighting overlaid and programmed to animate the large glazed atrium. The installation is now being developed in to a permanent scheme that will be completed early summer of 2017.

The National Media Museum is the UNESCO City of Film and situated right in the heart of Bradford. It exists to promote an appreciation and understanding of media through seven floors of galleries. The Museum has an extensive collection, a research facility, three cinemas – including the UK’s first IMAX theatre.
