Double Accolade at the Civic Trust Awards 2024 for the Second Year Running for Michael Grubb Studio

For the second year running, Michael Grubb Studio is thrilled to share that two projects featuring the studio’s lighting design have been awarded in the renowned Civic Trust Awards 2024.

Brent Cross Town substation and Strand Aldwych in Westminster were both crowned winners of the Civic Trust Awards Citation.

Brent Cross Town Substation plays a vital part in the overarching Brent Cross Town regeneration project. Currently the largest permanent public artwork in the UK to date, the project is also one of the largest net-zero urban regeneration projects in Europe. Michael Group Studio was appointed by Related Argent to create a sitewide lighting Masterplan for the wider Brent Cross Town project.

The second winning project, also located in London, Strand Aldwych is the complete revitalisation of the once-polluted gyratory in Strand. As the project lighting designer, Michael Grubb Studio developed the overall lighting strategy for the site.

Michael Grubb, Founder of Michael Grubb Studio added, “It is a real honour to be recognised in these prestigious awards for the second year running. Both these projects were huge successes for the Studio showcasing our capabilities in larger lighting Masterplanning projects, which have been very well received by the local communities. Thank you to the judges for their kind comments, and recognition”.

The Civic Trust Awards 2024 marks the 65th anniversary of these awards.
