Crowne Plaza Hotel opens

Newcastle’s Crowne Plaza Hotel has opened its doors to the public. The 251 bedroom hotel anchors the up and coming Stephenson Quarter, home of the world’s first passenger train.

Michael Grubb Studio provided lighting designs for the Restaurant, Gin Bar, Reception & Lobby, Leisure Club, Spa and the iconic Stephenson Banqueting Suite, which can accommodate over 400 people. The main feature was a 25-meter chandelier, which is suspended within the main atrium void.

The hotel is Located next to the Central Railway station and Metro, with direct access to Newcastle International airport and commands an envied position with St James’ Park, the Centre for Life, the Metro Radio Newcastle Arena and the City’s attractions, shops, theatres and nightlife, all within walking distance. The Quayside, Sage, Tyne Bridge and Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art are also close by.

Full details on the project will be available shortly.
