Michael Grubb Studio has been appointed by London Borough of Croydon to provide lighting designs for two separate installations within the Town Centre.
The first project will be located within Portland Railway Bridge, which crosses the upper end of Portland Road and is in close proximity to Norwood Junction station. Constructed around 1845 the bridge is of brick construction with iron girders and is owned by Network Rail.
The second installation will be located along North End Promenade, which is the main pedestrian high street within the heart of the town.
Croydon is one of the largest commercial districts outside Central London, with an extensive shopping district and night-time economy. It is also a major transport corridor to the south or England.
Michael Grubb Studio will be working in collaboration with WSP, London Borough of Croydon, Croydon BID, People of Portland Road, Skanska, Network Rail and various other stakeholders.
The project is due for completion in 2019.
