The prestigious Archbishop of York’s Southwell Palace project is complete and now an exciting visitor attraction for Southwell Minster. The restoration includes a sympathetic but empowering lighting scheme by Michael Grubb Studio.
The Palace dates from the 14th Century with its most famous occupants being Cardinal Wolsey and Charles Ӏ. With such a rich heritage, the State Chamber now makes an excellent and flexible space for wedding receptions, exhibitions, conferences and community events.
Michael Grubb Studio worked with Belvedere Project Solutions, Simon Leach Design, BCA and architect Mark Goodwill-Hodgson to develop a flexible lighting solution that supported the narrative of the building whilst enhancing the its architectural strengths.
