A New Chapter for Michael Grubb Studio
words by Michael Grubb, founder and principal.

Since founding Michael Grubb Studio in 2012, I’ve seen the practice evolve through a series of defining stages: our beginnings in Bournemouth, the opening of our London studio in 2022 and the growth of an increasingly international portfolio. Each has brought new experiences, opportunities and ambitions.
Now, we’re entering our next phase: Michael Grubb Studio 3.0.
We’re moving into a new HQ – a larger London studio that brings our whole team together under one roof. Our work has grown in scale, complexity and international reach, alongside the experience and ambition of our team. This new space gives us room to build on that growth, making collaboration, knowledge sharing and the exchange of ideas part of our everyday working life.
We’ve always been a people company. As AI and online working reshape how we work, I believe there is real value in being together: learning from one another, sharing fresh perspectives and having the conversations that move an idea forward. For me, that connection is central to the studio’s DNA.
This move also means closing our previous HQ in Bournemouth, where it all began. I’m pleased to say that no jobs have been lost, and I’m grateful to my whole team for their support, understanding and trust as we make this change together.
There is plenty of sentiment attached to Bournemouth, and I’ll always be proud of what grew from those beginnings. Bringing everyone together in London gives us the opportunity to build on that foundation and fulfil our potential as a creative studio working globally.
I first shared this news with our clients, partners and collaborators in our digital editorial —The Spotlight Issue 005, Taking New Horizons. I’m now pleased to share it more widely as we look ahead to the next chapter for Michael Grubb Studio.
