London Borough of Lambeth has appointed Michael Grubb Studio to provide decorative light-art proposals for Old Paradise Street and Black Prince Road tunnels.
Old Paradise Street is located next to Newport Street Gallery, which presents exhibitions of work from Damien Hirst’s art collection. Black Prince Street connects with the riverside and is steeped in history.
The project is funded by Transport for London (TfL) and forms part of a wider remit to deliver a number of schemes in the borough as part of the Central London Cycling Grid. The Grid will be a network of cycle routes mostly using quiet streets, where individual schemes will work together to improve conditions for pedestrians and cyclists.
Michael Grubb Studio is currently delivering decorative lighting schemes for Westminster Road Bridge, Carlisle Lane and Upper Marsh. All of which will be onsite during 2016
