Seven Stories, home for the National Centre for Children’s Books is now officially open following an intensive three month refurbishment programme.
Michael Grubb Studio provided creative lighting design concepts for all areas of the building, which were in turn developed into an all encompassing and immersive lighting experience. Working with ADP architects we were able to create a magical and inviting backdrop that supported the narrative of each individual space. We provided fun bespoke solutions, using our own control system, tailored towards children, using colour to add magic.
Bespoke lighting solutions were developed for the reception, thinking tank, workshop, book den and attic. The 50 Lux exhibitions within the two temporary exhibition spaces were also lit.
Full details of the project and the final lighting scheme will be available shortly.
