Triple Awards Success at The Pineapple Awards 2023

We are thrilled to announce that three projects featuring our lighting design scheme are winners at The Developer and Festival of Place – The Pineapples 2023.

Circus Street, Brighton, won the coveted Place of the Year award, Strand Aldwych Public Realm, Westminster, London, was the winner of Public Space, and Brent Cross Town, London, took home the award for Place in Progress. Three further projects featuring our lighting design, Claremont Park, Brent Cross Town, Alfred Place Gardens, Camden and Roots in the Sky, London also made the shortlist.

Circus Street has seen a disused area of the city centre transformed into a vibrant new social, cultural and economic quarter. The site includes 142 shared ownership and private homes, 450 student accommodation bedrooms, a 30,000sq.ft office space, and food, drink, and retail units.  Our lighting strategy has successfully created a meaningful environment that becomes a healthy, vibrant, sustainable community, by supporting the needs of local residents, students and business owners operating after dark.

The Strand Aldwych is home to Somerset House, King’s College, and a multitude of theatres and hotels, making it one of the most important re-developments in Central London. The lighting scheme creates a safe and relaxing environment, enhancing the natural landscape. Architectural lighting will illuminate the surrounding buildings of historic and architectural note by providing a dramatic backdrop, whilst the illumination of St Mary-le-Stand Church will place it centre stage.

Brent Cross Town, a brand new £5 billion development, is one of Europe’s largest developments, based in the heart of the London Borough of Barnet. Set around 50 acres of green space and playing fields, offering nearly 7000 new homes, retail, food and drink venues, as well as three redeveloped schools. We were appointed to create a sitewide Lighting Masterplan and lighting strategies for six prominent public realm projects within the area. Located at a visually prominent gateway of Brent Cross Town, we have created a design that seeks to transform a neglected site into an eye-catching landmark to benefit the local community.

It was an honour to work on these projects with incredible architects, designers, contractors, installers, and many others. We are passionate about creating wonderful placemaking that has a positive social, environmental and economic impact and overjoyed that this has been recognised in these award-winning projects.
