Exterior
Exterior lighting considers architecture as it is experienced after dark, responding to form, material, scale and the surrounding environment to establish a cohesive and considered night-time character. Our lighting practice identifies the challenges and opportunities of each structure, identifying where light can reveal architectural and design qualities, strengthen wayfinding and support safe, welcoming public use.
Careful control of intensity, distribution and colour helps ensure the scheme remains proportionate to its setting, with particular attention to light spill, glare, pollution, sustainability and the effects of artificial light on nocturnal wildlife. We create environments that feel purposeful, legible and naturally integrated after dark.
